Finishing Touches: All About Wigs!

Sunday, 10/4 4pm - 6pm The Village Studios Students enrolled in *Reveal! The Burlesque Solo Project* are automatically enrolled in this workshop. You deserve to feel your most fabulous onstage, and as we know that good hair is the icing on the cake! Join wig designer and hair specialist Alycia Berry from Five Thirteen Wigs for an in depth discussion and demonstration on wig washing, maintenance, and styling! With questions encouraged during and after, you’ll leave with an understanding of basic wig maintenance and styling knowledge for your own use at home and on stage! This session will review: a wig prep discussion and demo, explanation of wig washing, visual demo of wig blocking, detangling, rolling, steaming, drying with the bonnet method, and styling. ABOUT ALYCIA BERRY: Alycia Berry is a hairstylist and wig designer from St. Louis, now based in ATL. For over a decade she has had one foot behind the chair and one foot backstage, most recently with the City Springs Theatre Company. Her passion for both sides of the industry gives her a unique set of skills that she loves to share. She has had the pleasure for designing wigs for independent performers, drag artists, and for shows such as The Music Man, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, Beauty and the Beast, White Christmas and Spamalot!
